MPG/H.P. with basic mods
O.k., after 36k miles I made the usual mods: Flowmaster 40 series with dual out, Air Box mod with ZooDad, Throttle Body Spacer and notice no gain in MPG after a trip to Louisiana from south Texas(400 miles). I still had 1/8 of a tank left at my usual fill up spot north of Houston. Just at 13 mpg for about 70 mph avg. hwy speed. I however did notice a huge gain in H.P. at higher RPM bands. The engine when I'm passing another vehicle does not sound like its sruggling for air or searching for horsepower. So in my opinion...don't do the mods for MPG gain. They are nice for the h.p. and torque. I just wanted to put this out for anyone looking to increase MPG in their V-10. This beast is a gas guzzler and I love it and there is no cure for a fuel efficiency increase except for trading it in on a 5.4 liter(yuk).
