Bonus Built trucks at work and play

So I don't hijack the other thread here's some of my junk at work or play or under construction so they can work. They still have stock interiors, rubber floor mats, original drivetrain, etc. Just the way Henry made them. Only exception is the 52 plow truck: it has a 360 for power.

1950 F4 going to be the next plow truck - there's bobj's wheels

48 F6 and 50 F4 when the 50 came home

52 F6 plow truck

1952 F2 waiting for running boards and front valance

48 and 52 F6s

48 F6 and 50 F4 when the 50 arrived - I think it looks much better with 8.25-20s

How much weight do you load the plow truck with? My F6 dumptruck still has the bracketry for mounting a snowblade on the front, and I may just put one on. With the dumpbox, I don't really want to load it with something that will make a mess, though firewood might be heavy enough. Anyway, thought I'd ask.

BTW, great group of trucks!

Tim, that's quite a collection of trucks you have there. Glad to see you are putting them to work.....
Is that gray F-4 the same one that was for sale by WBC? I looked at that truck, but had no use for it.
Thanks for the pics!

Havi the box on the 52 is loaded with bank sand/dirt. It needs some attention cause it's leaving a trail as we plow - the wood on the bottom is slowly rotting away. That truck - 176" wb stays at my son's place 8 miles up the road. I get the shorter 50 134" wb with the V-blade plow. Ha! I load firewood for weight in the F1, and all we have is pine/fir/spruce. Your hardwood is a lot heavier. Whatever the weight, dual chains make the differencee.

Now, if it would just stop snowing so I can work on it.....

tinman, yes that did sit next to WBC. I watched it for the better part of a year and finally took it home for $700. The sheetmetal is fantastic - as far as solid. The dents and dings I can hammer out and will run it pretty much as-is. I'm not sure if it's a collection or an addiction, but they keep me out of trouble and out of $$ : )

So I am just sitting here drooling away at your pics and the wife walks in, she just gives me a big smile and shakes her head! Vey nice pics. Thanks for taking the time to load them up!

BTW, you must have to cut a lot of that softwood to stay warm. I'm burning sugar maple at the moment and there sure is a lot of heat in it!

Hey mtflat,

It's awesome to see your collection of work trucks at work. How does that 52 f6 handle in the snow?

spurredon, my firewood has about 1/2 the btu's of your oak, maple, cherry, etc. So it takes twice as much to produce the same heat. I go thru 5 or 6 cords every heating season - Sept thru May.

badger hound, the F6 handles great in the snow. It has enough weight up front to stick to the ground. Notice the chains on the dual wheels plus the box filled with bank dirt/sand for weight. Without the chains it goes nowhere.

Good deal. I just thought it might be a little squirrely with all that weight up front and no 4wd. Guess the sand bags and wheel chains compensate.

I must protest the Kawasaki in the bed of the F1. A truck that age should be hauling a vintage Triumph or BSA, or at least a Bultaco or Husky.

Photoshop courtesy of member Derek here.... Haven't seen him around much? This was an effort to see if the bike would fit in the bed.

Whats that funny white stuff? and whats with those goofy red and yellow front bumpers?

Just kidding....

Its really cool to see these old trucks being used. I knew you weren't bashful about loading down your F-1. I never realized you had the plow trucks as well. Nice collection of working trucks... ...inspiring.

Thanks for sharing the pics

Nice trucks, Tim!

Did you ever find the front valance or are you still in need of one?
