DMF verses Single
I spend most of my time over in the IDI forum, and whenever this question comes up, there are a couple of guys that say a Single mass flywheel will destroy a ZF5 tranny over time from the pulses of the diesel engine. I have never heard of anyone losing their tranny from a single mass conversion, ever. I have converted 5 trucks over to single mass fw, and love them. I keep recomending the conversion, and they keep saying the above. So my question is has anyone evere heard of the SMF destroying a ZF5?
I know there are a ton of you guys that have the SMF, and some of you make more power than the old IDIs can.

i have had to replace my dmf, i did so because that is what it had when it went out. and didnt know there was an option ( this was about 4 yrs ago) i was at ford two weeks ago , the parts guy there said when they have a truck that is out of warranty they replace with smf. as far as them destroying a tranny nothing was mentioned about that. and if ford dealer is converting them must not be that bad.
