I have a 1990 f150 xlt lariat 4x4 e40d with the towing package and the quad front suspension. I was wondering if my coil springs are stock cause they look kindof compressed to me, the pic was taken with all the weight on the truck. Please help...what can I do to soften the ride on the streets dont due much offroading just looking for a smoother ride.
Thoes look like F350 springs to me. I know cause I recently bought the exact spring for the front of my truck. The heavy duty 2wd truck have that spring configuration that makes the top look compressed , it is actually to handle more weight. Coil springs are easy to replace. I think i payed like 90bucks for a set off some web site referred to me on this forum. Wish I could remember but i cant.
yeah they are def not stock f150 springs. I did some research and it looks like they are performance springs for heavy weight being put on the front end, like a plow or something. and it looks like they are installed upside down lol if that is possible
I think the upside down look would be typical of the progressive rate springs---then again anything is possible since they'd be OEM replacements and have to fit stock suspensions.
