Ok I need some help, Ive got a 1997 F350 off road non dauly. had all the ball joints replaced tierod ends but I would call this a death wobble [wow] going down the road at hwy speed if you hit a bump omg hold on. I did find sway bar bushings are bad but I dont know if this would cause this. any sugestions ive already put over 1800 dollars in the front end

I have a 97 4x4 and the front in was like that the busing that mount the front leaf springs were about gone and that were your problem is I replace with rulon bushing you can check the with a big screw diver or pry bar you see the shackle in the front under the bumper are bad

OK... got my truck fixed today (see my rant in another thread). The following work was completed:

Replaced both shocks, front track bar, 2 drag links, rebalanced the front tires and reset the alignment.

Rides perfectly now, no more shimmy

Congratulations. I wonder which part was actually the bad part. They did so much work it's impossible to tell now.

I'm starting to think my shocks and front damper are kind of weak. A little too much side to side action at times on the freeway.

Awesome. Mine goes in Thursday for the front end work. Hopefully, all will go well. Do you kno if they added a little more castor?

My dealer wants to check the steering stabilizer before I take it to the alignment shop. Says Ford requires him to rule it out before the alignment.

The other day when it was -24, I went over a small speed bump at work at the guard shack, same one I've crawled over for twenty five years, and it felt like the front end bottomed out on the front axle. Going to have that looked at also.

Glad yours turned out good.

Be sure and have shocks checked. My front Ranchos were dead. No gas in them.

Hey thanks Rickx. That's kinda what I was thinking too. It just felt dead when I went over that bump. Definatly will have em check the shocks.

Let's see: drag link(s), steering stabilizer, alignment, extra caster angle, shocks, front track bar (not sure what that is). What else, guys?

Washboard Rumble

2011 F-250; 22,000 miles; all stock...no alterations; conservative driving habits. A few weeks ago I began to experience occasional right (?) wheel rumble.....like driving over a washboard road.....no pulling to either side, no odd tire wear ....usually on highway at 65 mph. I was at the dealer yesterday and mentioned it......husband expected them to blow me off....but instead they test drove and looked below and reported " Track Bar ball joint loose and Rt. outer upper and lower tie rod ends loose" . Parts are ordered and will be covered under Warrantee . So, I don't know for sure this will solve the issue, but I'm hopeful . ...and wanted to share this option.

My truck is in shop now for this. They come out and said they just got a recall notice on this. I will get more details when I get it back.

Did the rep. tell you what the recall is for? I had enough of Ford telling me the truck drives fine and nothing is wrong, so I bought all new shocks and stabilizer...now there is a recall...hmmm, sounds like they are admitting something is wrong??? Interesting.

My dealer didn't even want to see the video I made of what mine does. He said, "we'll test drive it". I insisted he watch it, he said it wasn't needed. They went on a mile and a half test drive, all was well in their book. I bought new shocks and a steering stab, NOW all is well.

They ordered the part for the front end. I will get the truck back tomorrow and pass it along. Part is supposed to be in first thing in the morning. Wasn't able to get the phone in time and asked for more details. So when I picke it up tomorrow I should have the details.

Ok here's what they did. Followed TSB11-6-14 road tested installed steering damper.

Installed BC3Z 3E651 B : DAMPER ASY

FELT GOOD ALL THE WAY HOME. I GUESS TIME AND MILES WILL TELL.
Hope this can help someone else.
