I won't run anything else (but I do use the 5/40 in the winter).

My friend runs it in his and doesn't seem to have any problems.

Wal-Mart has DELO 400 for 11.00 right now so that's what I'll continue to use.

I have emailed the guy and I have not got a response if he even still has it. I am good for another 11 months on my oil now so if it falls through it falls through.

What are your reasons if you don't mind me asking?

I just switched to it the last time I changed my oil and like it so far. I prefer Valvoline in all my gas powered stuff, guess it has to do with Mark Martin from years passed......

People who know..........

Subjective reason: Good oil. Have always run Valvoline in everything.

Experience: One time I used Rotella. I won't make that mistake again. 2300-2400 miles and it was time to change it. The engine let me know that it didn't like it.

I can get the full 3000 miles out of Valvoline without experiencing a lack of power or hard starts. I got 2300-2400 miles out of the Rotella and that was all she wrote.

By the way Dan, how is that little bit of advance working over the winter?

3000 miles on dinosaur poop or synthetic. I make it about 6-8 weeks.

Before I get hounded for changing my oil every 3000 miles......
I do it because I'm comfortable with it. I like my oil to come out just a little darker than when it goes in. I don't like when the oil stains my hands....it makes me feel like a negligent father. Besides, I don't mind "wasting" my money on needless oil changes. I'm a maintenance freak with everything.

Cody, I agree with your observations on Rotella, I will never run it again.

I used to use Delo, but I switched over to Premium Blue back in '08 and have used it exclusively in both of my diesels ever since.
