COMPUTER

Hey Guys,I brought my truck to the mechanic because it would not idle without stalling and was told it was the computer.They replaced the computer and still not running right.shouldnt the new computer give the codes to correct the problems

if its still not running right, than they didn't fix the problem.
I would take it back to them. Or find a better shop.

Depends on the problems, our trucks don't have nearly as many sensors as newer vehicles. I was having a problem with my truck years ago and I was stumped and took it to Ford and they were stumped too, ended up being clogged up injectors.

It has not left the shop yet there still working on it. I need to keep the cost down or Im going to have to scrap it out.

Well you shouldn't have to pay for replacing the computer.. To me it sounds like the shop is just playing the replace parts and see if it works game..

It ran fine till the other morning, should I have them put the old computer back in because that was not the problem and have them check the injectors.The old computer kept giving a list of errors when reset all new errors came up

i would have them put the old one in. then tell them u are not paying for the work that did not fix the problem. i would replace the fuel filter and make sure its getting good pressure and then check the fuel injectors. they are cheap and easy to replace. u could def do it urself and save a boat load of money
