Hey Guys,I brought my truck to the mechanic because it would not idle without stalling and was told it was the computer. They replaced the computer and still not running right.shouldnt the new computer give the codes to correct the problems
Depends on the problems, our trucks don't have nearly as many sensors as newer vehicles. I was having a problem with my truck years ago and I was stumped and took it to Ford and they were stumped too, ended up being clogged up injectors.
It ran fine till the other morning, should I have them put the old computer back in because that was not the problem and have them check the injectors. The old computer kept giving a list of errors when reset all new errors came up
i would have them put the old one in. then tell them u are not paying for the work that did not fix the problem. i would replace the fuel filter and make sure its getting good pressure and then check the fuel injectors. they are cheap and easy to replace. u could def do it urself and save a boat load of money
