Hi guys I ordered a 2011 f250 crew cab lariat in december and it came off the transport yesturday. Beautiful truck I only looked at it as I drove by but a buddy of mine went down last night and called me and said it has the center seat when it is supposed to have a center console. I have not talked with my salesman yet to see if I printed it off wrong on the "ford build and price" or if they messed it up. Either way i dont think the dealer is going to switch this out for me and probably would rather do it myself anyway. My question is has anyone does this yet and how hard is it/what all is involved. Thank you in advance and thank you for a great forum looks very informational so far!

I don't think anyone has done a 2011 yet, at least I haven't seen one, and I've been looking because I would like to add the console someday.
From what I can tell, though I'm no engineer, I'm not sure it will just drop in because of how it meets the bottom of the dash. The cup holder has to come out and I don't know how the vents would be configured.
I have been looking for the bench seat for a while now and finally found a truck with one...it is on its way as I type. During my search I have gone over this a few times with the dealers they won't even swap them out for money....The console has the power inverter wiring, extra flow through air ducts, dc plug etc they don't even want to mess with it. Now after saying that I think its possible but you would need to find the harness for the power equipment and probably remove the bottom of the dash to figure out where they tap into the air vents.
From what the dealer said its near impossible for them to do but they are lazy so who knows, however it was easier for them to go over 1000 miles in bad weather to pick my other truck up.
GL to you

Reason: Addition
I was afraid it was a bit more involved then just removing the center seat and dropping the console in. I'm sure you're right about the wiring and vents, and that's the problem. Maybe someday someone will actually try it. Guess we'll just have to wait...
