Weight Distributing Hitch - What to look for?
Monster-4, I took my hitch up the street to a local garage and gave one of the mechanics $5.00 to zip it on with an air wrench/socket. No need to buy a socket you will probably only use one time.

I've never actually installed one of these so not sure where the "thin wall" is required over just a standard socket...the ball nut?...if that is the case...couldn't you use an open end wrench?...albeit it a big open end wrench...you may have an adjustable that big...although if you did drive to RVWholesalers...make them install the ball before you leave as that is the only nut I can think of that is THAT big!!!

That might be an idea. Also there is two Authorized Dealers about 45 minuets away from me so if all else fails I could pay them to do it.
IIRC a normal craftsman socket of that size fits... But it was at an RV dealership, so maybe it wasn't as normal as I thought...
you could always wedge something in so the nut won't turn and spin the ball...
