Surging Issue

1996 F350 220000mi Ok the problem I am having is low power on acceleration but it pulls good through top end. If I use the 15k mod it runs through first gear good but no power when it hits second and then will start surging (no power then power then no power and repeat (no cel) cel light is good. i just put in a new tank and fuel pump about two weeks ago but this problem was happening before this. There are days it runs and pulls great and others like im describing. Ambient temp dosent seem to be a factor. My laptop with my Ae on it is out of service right now and I am working on limited funds. Any thoughts or insight would be appericated. Ipr is original along with almost all the sensors except the map sensor its new turbo is in good shape and has new injector O rings all injectors were torqued correctly with a high end snapon torque wrench.

Does it do this without the 10k mod hooked up? Have you tried unplugging the ICP and going for a ride and see if it still does it? There are lots of things that can cause this. Injector poppet valves, IPR, ICP, and the 10k mod could all cause some weird problems like this.

There is no surging with no 10k just dosent have much power till the rpms come up to about 2200. I have unpluged the icp and run it before and it dosent run any better and the tranny shoves it self into gear like a vw hitting the truck at 35mph. I have tryed to start it with the ipr unpluged and no start. It has trown the cel about 3 times in the past few months but it never stores the code or stays on longer than half a second or so just enough time to see it shut on then off. I am a big beliver in pm so I never end up stranded anywhere.

If there is no surging without the 10k mod, the mod may have a bad connection making the ICP raise and drop or maybe the HPOP is having a tough time keeping up. Would have to hook up a mechanical HPOP guage on the oil rails to figure that one out.

The hpop is what I have been thinking, but with no cel I thought I would try here. before throwing money away. What is the best way to go about a new pump I eventually want to put stage 1s in.
