Engine missfire
I recently developed an engine miss on my 99 super duty with a 5.4 liter engine.No check engine engine lights came on, but I was able to pick up a code using a portable scan tool. The scanner showed a miss on#8 cylinder.I removed the old plug ,which didn't look bad. I put a new plug and coil pack in,but still have the miss.I pulled the coil wire and hooked to a new plug and grounded it,and could see a good spark. Could the scan tool be giving me the wrong code or cylinder?
