After "Desert Storm", people were commenting on how we should have taken no prisoners instead of treating them like we did.
Looks like that policy is going to pay off, with interest.
they should have let them stay because more than likely those men will be killed and it might have sent the wrong message that we will not except prisoners and they might reconsider surrenduring in the future
A man walks up to the door of a house on any street in any city, and he knocks. When the owner answers, the man says to him:
"Sir, I intend to rob your house when you leave town."
The owner of the house snorts arrogantly and says: "No you're not. I don't believe you."
The man at the door smiles and walks away...
They should have kept those guys and at the VERY least questioned them, gave them a cigarette and an orange before they sent them back to their deaths. I bet those soldiers are sitting in the desert somewhere between the two encampments, wondering which way they should start walking...
An odd set of circumstances...I wonder if the Brits let those guys keep their rifles...

I gotta agree, why oh why would they not have let those guys hang out on our side for a while?
Give them the most basic of rations and shelter, it would probably be like 5 star accomodations to them.
Befriend them a little, get them talking, who knows what they might have to tell us. If nothing else, it eliminate the possibility of encountering them if the real deal happens. They may not surrender so quickly then.
I would think that sending them back into Iraq was sending them to their deaths. Had they kept them, word would have spread, heck, the whole army might have just waved the white flag and we'd have got what we want without firing a shot.
I guess I have to trust that our military personnel know what they're doing, but this one strikes me as being pretty bone headed.
