what wire is this?

hey, today i was taking off my instrument cluster to fix some wiring, i got all the gauge wires off and the speedo cable, but theirs this white wire from the column going to the bottom right of the cluster, i was wondering what it is and how to remove it.

I could be wrong, but it looks like the shift dial indicator cable.
