my truck too lacks low end power. i have a 93 f150 302 a4od 4x4 3inch body lift 32" mud kings. i recently found a donor late 70's bronco 400 4spd and was wondering how difficult it would be to swap the bronco's engine, tranny, and everthing else underneath it.
with the speedo i didnt know how much it would be off since i added larger tires i will actually be going faster then then what the speedo reads, but when i do the gears wont i be going slower then what the speedo reads or will i be close?

All you need is gears and a cam upgrade, 4.10's or 4.30's in the axles along with the Comp cams 35-512-8 and you won't have any problem making the mud fly.
Putting that old powertrain in your truck is a massive job in comparison.
I do not recommend doing anything to the engine itself. The costs will not be worth the minimal gains, especially if you don't have the extra money to rework the engine.
Also, 33s are really the largest tire I would run with a 300.
Your truck defintely needs gears. That will be the single best thing you can do.
Ditch the KN, its not helping anything. Is it a replacement filter or a hot air intake? If its the FIPK crap it really belongs on the junk pile.

would i still run the 4.10 or 4.30 gear and cam if i had 36'' mudders and a 6'' lift? its already got 3'' body lift. or is the 36''s too much for the 302 as is?

The 302 does not make much low end power, I would not recommend anything larger than 32s personally. At the most 33s is all I would run with the 302 with or with out a cam. There is no way I would run 36s. With 35s you need 4.56 gears.
