Just a quick question...
Are you purchasing for looks, or functionality? Reason I ask is that these bull bars are just simple bolt-ons with metal tabs. They won't take much impact without further damaging the truck.

I vote for Ranch Hand, or one of their offshoot brands like Frontier Products.

I'm in a bit of a quandary over "grill guards" too. Our new truck is due in early April, and I would like to install one for both looks and protection. The one thing I haven't been able to figure out is why many of them come with "bars" across the headlight areas, but none across the grill area, or vise versa?
I'm yet to find a model that provides both....well, there is one Tubular Stainless Steel Truck Accessories The Rancher but I'm not too thrilled about possibly having to start "trimming" on a new truck to install it.

do you have a 2x4 truck? If so you could order the 4x4 front fascia/air dam to replace the stock one and not need to cut anything. Just an idea. I'm having a rough time finding what i want also. I'm looking for the the push bar/ grille guard without the headlight brackets.

I think you need to look into Ranch Hand bumpers:

basicly I'm just looking for a little protection and the rest for looks...and cost is a factor as well..
I like the looks from Rancher products, but I like the looks of this better

M1 Front Bumpers - Smittybilt

This is pretty much like what was on the jeep a few years ago..1/4" thick...

I didn't notice the picture of the 150 with the grille saver on it....looks like we are going to have to photo shop a couple of pictures.....

just wrote customer service at smittybuilt to see how thick the tubing is,and what they say about strength..

thanks for the replies

that's what i was thinking, depending on which one you get you may be able to keep the tow hooks. I just ordered this: 2010 Ford F-150 Go Rhino 3000 Series Grill Guard, Go Rhino 3000 Series Center Guard

I believe with slightly longer mount bolts i should be able to keep the tow hooks

I have a Ranch Hand full front-end replacement on my 09, and I love it. Not cheap, but it makes the truck look great and actually will handle some impact, unlike most "grille guards".

Fab-four has some good ones, but they are not cheap.
