My truck is a 2006 350 with the 6.0 it has 115000 kilometers, I think that around 70 000 miles, just had the cooling system flushed yesterday and the coolant was down below the lower level mark, this is the first time for a coolant flush, is this normal or should I be worried, the truck starts and runs perfect, i have 5000kms left on the extended warranty, should I be worried? No white smoke but fluid drips from the exaust esp when cold? So if there is concern I would love some advice a I really need to fix it while on warranty as I can't afford to fix it off warranty and it will be turned into a large flower pot. Thanks....Jason
That should be just the system burping (getting air out of the system) from the flush. Just keep an eye on it and it should level off. And the moisture out of the tail pipe when it is cold should be normal, at least it is for gas. I'm new to diesels. But I would be sure to take it in for an inspection before the warranty runs up. I'm sure someone will jump in and say if I'm wrong tho.
I have a coolant leak. I think I found it where the radiator tank and cooling fins connect. My questio. Is it repairable or will I have to buy a
radiator ? Thanks for reading and any help.
carcus - levels can fluctuate quite a bit under normal operation. As Capt couey says, keep an eye on it - could very easily be nothing. It is hard to diagmnose w/ no pics and just a general description of what you are seeing (like how far below the min mark).
Capt, you also didn't state if the 1" below the min. was where they left it or the 1st time you noticed it. Your sequence of events are not clear. It does appear to be normal without anymore info.
Sheryle, No offense but you need to start a thread rather than hijack someone else's. You more than likely need a new radiator. I haven't heard of anyone recrimping the tanks. I could however be wrong.
