Behind dash--access ?
My problem is I can't install the wires onto the switch with the switch installed without removing the dash panel.
I am hoping to tap into to ya'lls experience here.
What is involved in removing the necesary panel(s) to gain access for this install?
There appears to be three separate panels on the lower dash.
Do I have to remove them as a unit or do they separate once I get the right screws out?
Thanks!
Matt
The switch I want to use fills the hole pretty well with a little dressing up.
I cannot attach the leads once the switch is installed, not enough room for my hand going through the side under the wheel.
This style switch won't allow me to attach the wires then instsall the switch either.
Maybe i I just need to look around and find another style switch.
Also with this style switch I had to use a backer plate on the back side of the dash for the nut to hold everything tight.
The number on the switch is R13-133. Since I really dont know I am assuming this is the part number.
I have used this exact switch on other application.
It has a bright red LED when in the on position.
I have found that if I mount it upside down the red light isn't awfully distracting.
I hadn't even thought of using a toggle. Will look into that.
Thanks
It really isn't all that bad to get to the back of the switch now that I did it.
Remove the radio
Remove the ash tray/cup holder (4 screws two up front two in the back)
Pop the instrument panel off
remove two screws from the top of the panel where the pedal adjuster switch/ plug is.
I was able simply pull the top of the panel out enough to make my connections.
Reassemble in the reverse order!
I also found the extra wires in the harness while I was under the dash.
Now all that is left is mounting the lights on the bumper and making the connections.
