the EBPV is on the turbo where it has the rod end that comes out to the exhaust side of the turbo.
Wipe the face of that up really good so if it does leak you'll be able to see oil on the face of it. Just where the rod comes out.
As for the check valve, something I just recently learned about, its under the Hpop down by the IPR where you cannot get to it unless you pull the Hpop.
Joey says thats probably what has been leaking on mine. I swore mine was the IPR, which could very well possibly be yours too, but your not saying anything about bad warm starts and such.
There is apparently a spring and a ball and such in there and is sensitive if you over tighten it. I told him I'd let him fix it. XD
But if the o-ring goes bad, it will drip into the valley when the truck is under load, which is what my truck does.
The oil exits out the valley under the turbo on the pass side though a hole down into the bell housing behind the flywhee/flexplate.
So, that makes it look like the rear main is leaking.
See the 1/2 inch bolt on the top left of the picture?
thats the check valve. Its right under the IPR. The only way I know to reach down there is to pull the fuel bowl so you can maneuver your hand all the way under there to get under the Hpop, or to take the hpop off. I would not take it out while its in the truck though, to easy to over tighten.
But the check valve keeps the pump from going over pressure, thus if you are lugging the truck, say... by hauling a horse trailer, which would make the pump work harder, if there is a leak there, I'm sure it would seep out oil.
My truck doesn't leak oil unless i'm hot rodding around. It will drop a drop or 2 no matter what, but if i've been on the throttle, i get a puddle when I park it.
How much oil are you talking about that you found on your inter cooler boot was it soaked and dripping oil? or was it just a coating? a little bit of oil is normal if that is what you found but if it was dripping oil and the pipe was full of oil you may have a different problem if there is Internal damage to the engine and the motor is at high boost say pulling a trailer CC pressures can force oil out and the easiest place for the oil and pressure to go would be out the vent I am not saying you have a problem internally but it may be something to look at maybe a compression test would be in order.
My opinion is and everyone is allowed their own opinion here is that the CCV is designed to be in the intake I have had bad luck with this mod but most have not .
I think you need to get the truck in a high boost situation again like pulling a trailer and see if oil is present again .

your gonna have to pull the trailer most likely to find the leak again by lugging the engine and making it work harder.
I drove it again today, not 100 miles, but no leaks at all. I hooked up the ccv to the turbo intake and she will take the horse tomorrow. I put the ccv tube on because I had a film of oil in the intercooler, when I put the tube back on the front end of the turbo was dry. I am not sure how bad the oil in the turbo was, I just noticed the oil coming out the loose intercooler hose, I thought it was a turbo seal but it is not. I will let the group know what I find when she gets back from her ride.
The haze coming out is a gas, and there is oil in the gas, the tube might be dry, but its still a gas, and gas will turn into a liquid when it cools. Thus the coating inside the IC. =)
Silly setup IMO. the gasses should be plumbed into the intake on the cold side of the IC. But with our trucks not being made with an IC from the factory, it doesn't do much to have the oil going in there besides to muck up the turbo and make it dirty.
Yeah if it was just a film of oil than that is nothing to worry about it is normal still doesnt explain the 2 quarts of oil that ended up under the truck.
Next time the motor has cooled down jump up and feel on the back of the heads if it is wet and oily there you could have a bad o ring in the end plug that plugs the High pressure oil rail it may only leak when the motor is at operating temp .
Since I have a different turbo set up and intake I had to make a different "dog house" for my CCV. Essentially what I did was move it towards the front of the engine. I don't have any steel mesh so I've venting it straight to the atmosphere.
I've done some pretty good hauls and I've never noticed any oil loss. There's a good flow through there but I don't think it's enough to push a significant amount of oil.
I park in the same spot usually and there's maybe 1 or 2 little drops from oil on the concrete...

There was so much oil everywhere that I do not know where it came from, but obviously the difference in crankcase pressure under a good load made the difference. I figure that with the turbo sucking a lot of air under load, it must pull a good vacuum on the crankcase. My wife is solving the problem, she ordered a new truck, one with an auto trans, she has been tired of the clutch for a while now. Someone else will get a good low mileage 97 F250! Thanks for the help---
