Just Bought My New(er) used 2005 F350 CCSB, SRW, 6.0 Diesel 4X4 and I was wondering if any of the knowledgable folks out here in FTE use any Automotive Maintenance software/ spreadsheets and what they think about it.
I have been looking at the Automotive Wolf product and for $30 it seems like a smart investment. I have alway done my own maintenance but knowing that i like the information when i purchase a vehicle it seems that it would be good to have for furture sale.
With that said i plan on keeping my truck for many miles, but i would like to keep better detailed records of the things i do. It seems that the consensus is that the 6.0 Diesel is very picky about its care.
any thoughts suggestions or examples of what you use would be appreciated
Thanks
Bill

Reason: spelling
I just use an Excel spreadsheet. I took the maintenance schedule that was in the manual, and typed it into one tab. It's mostly cut and paste, so didn't take too long. Then another tab I have for any repairs or recalls that are unscheduled. Another tab is for every drop of fuel I have ever pumped into the truck, and does my mileage calculations. And the last tab is where I record part numbers of parts that I have used, which makes it easy if you need them again. Obviously there are columns on each sheet for date and mileage. I don't think you will find an application that is as flexible to do exactly what you want, as a spreadsheet would be.
As an aside comment, the automakers should include something you can install on your PC to help us track this stuff. It would cost them little, and would be a nice bonus.
