My '04 F350 Crewcab is giving me a load of grief! Its got 73k miles, SCT tuner, K & N, 4" down tube/Magnaflow and Sinister EGR delete. I'm in the midst of refab'n the FICM to repair low voltage output and reman'd injectors needing to replace one. Ended up replacing IPR, ICP and CPS.
Now, when I use keyfob to lock doors, the exterior lights turn on...the headlights remain off. The headlight switch is in the off position and the alert sounds when I open the driver's door.
The only way to turn the lights of is to disconnect the batteries with the doors closed. The lights turn off and I can reconnect the batteries. I pulled any fuses that appeared related(ign...door locks/security...ext lights...) and none of them turned off the lights.
I fixed all problems myself to this point but sure could use some help here...Thanks
Just a thought but last year darn squirrels got under dash and hood and chewed wires cost me $500 and insurance company several thousand in wiring replacement. Was acting weird like you describe in addition to trans shift problems..
I've inspected the wiring as thoroughly as possible without disassembling the truck...lots of lights, mirrors, sore back...
Just a short while ago I locked the doors with the driver's door lock switch and then closed the door...the exterior lights came on and again I had to disconnect the batteries to shut the lights off.
No aftermarket alarm...the only changes to electrical system are a turbo timer I installed Jan 2004 and an SCT tuner download which I installed last June...

My recommendation is to remove turbo timer to see if it resolves
are you the first owner of the truck?
please look under the dash because is the door are locked with a factory remote you should not be getting anything so far as flashing lights are a horn going off.
I may be misunderstanding your issue too.
I ordered the truck and have done all the work except for a dealership re-flash to power both sides of the injector solenoids for cold start.
The exterior lights, except for the headlights, come on if I locks the doors using the electric door lock switch on either front door and then close the door. The same happens when the doors are closed and I use the key fob to lock the doors. Nothing else happens and the only way to turn the lights off is to disconnect the batteries. I tried pulling the fuses that were in any way related to security, doors, lighting, ect. and the lights remained on.
I have spent hours inspecting the wiring and find it in good condition...
maybe someone can post the wiring diagram for the lighting/ door lock diagram, it almost sounds like a relay that might be sticking. and i take it this is regardless of the state of the turbo timer, IE the truck is not running when you set the lock?
