Frozen Turbo?
Today it was -4F here...
So I get in my truck, drive to the highway, it is at normal operating temperature..
I accelerate on the on ramp and I notice I have nearly 30psi of boost.
(I don't recall having seen that much boost with such a mild acceleration)
Then once on the highway, going at about 65 mph, the turbo goes on/off from 0psi to 20psi every 30 seconds or so.
Did some valve freeze preventing the air intake system to stabilize at a certain pressure?
After driving about 20 minutes, it stopped and stayed constant and then it did it again the rest of the way.
The turbo works.. in city driving everything seems fine.
Any ideas? Should I be worried or just wait it out?
Thanks
I guess I'll have to inspect that when it gets hotter outside.
Maybe the aftermarket air intake/filter is allowing too much moisture in...
(It came with the truck
)
