Junk yard is probably your best bet for finding one, I am not sure how available they are in the parts stores.

Probably shouldn't post your phone number for the whole world to see, but that's just my point of view. Welcome to the site! There is a lot of info here for grabs...

I don't know them by the parts numbers, there are two styles, one expensive and one $25. I'll take a look for the thread....

Junk yard would probably be my last place to look for a part like that. I would start at somewhere like a carquest or Napa then if it came down to it talk to ford.

I would agree regarding a JY part. I need the the valve for my '85 F150. The valves I was able to find in the JY looked a bit worse for wear. Not sure I would want to trust one in an Iowa winter. It would be a miserable roadside fix if the valve decided to go south at the wrong time. right now I have it rigged up to run off only the front tank but I have no gauge so I carry a couple gallons of fuel "just in case". Once it warms up here I am going to buy a new one and install it.
Just my opinion but I would hesitate to use a JY part. I am sure there are guys on here than could tell a good one from an iffy one at 50 yards but I am not one of them.
Good luck.

Welcome to FTE

E3TZ9189C .. Fuel Tank Selector Valve Assy-6 ports / Marked: E3TB-9F271-AA / Available from Ford.

Fits: 1983/86 E/F250/350 6.9L Diesel / 1983/86 E/F250/350 460 w/in-tank electric fuel pump / 1983/86 Ranger 134 cid diesel.

MSRP: $215.90 // FTE Ford Dealer Parts Dept sponsor PARTSGUYED.COM price: $155.45.

Please...when asking a question like this, list all the pertinent info: Year/Series/Engine size.

1980/89 F100/350, F(Super Duty) & Bronco: There are seven different types of these valves. Five pertain to 1983/86's only.

It's impossible to verify if the part number is correct...or not...without the exact application.

btw: These valves were troublesome turds...even when the vehicles were brand new. A used valve prolly won't be any better than what you have now.

Which one of these SEVEN possible valves is $25.00? NONE! The cheapest is $88.30. Since I have the 1980/89 Ford truck parts catalog, I do know...and can list all seven part numbers.

There wasn't one a these valves that was 25 bucks...even when the trucks were branny new.

I was going off what was posted in the thread I listed. Are you ordering Ford Brand name parts or just going to a car parts store? I've found the Ford brand are a quality part, but you pay for it. Auto Zone things are warrentied, but its a 60/40 chance against you it'll leave ya stranded!

Rock Auto has them for between $68 and $106 depending on which you need. They have AC Delco units, so at least there's some quality there.
