What year is your Chrysler T-bar? I used an 87 Chrysler 5th Avenue suspension in my 48 F-3 and an 83 suspension in my 49. In both trucks I used the stock Chrysler pump (Saginaw). On my 48 which has a 355 SBC I fabricated a bracket to use the 87 Chrysler pump and on my 302 powered 49 F-1 I will do the same to use the 83 pump. The pumps are all the same from 83-89 and probably before that too...
thanks, great northern and i wanna for responding.
i've been running the chevy power steering pump...
i haven't looked at the chrysler box, but if its shaped like the chevy, then
space is a major problem with it too.
the two hoses stay close to the exhaust manifold and i've had to tilt the
pump for it to clear the box.
i've been looking at making a bracket to help raise it higher for more
clearance.
i've got it off right now because either the pump or the belt are making a
lot of noise....hope to get time tomorrow to check it out...
tks,ashlandcat
Unfortunately, I didn't take pictures of the PS mount on the SBC but here are the ones for the 302 Ford, You can get an idea of what the Chrysler pump looks like...
This is the 83-89 Chrysler pump with the brackets I made to fit the 302...
