Just had my '65 green-dot C-O-M rebuilt. The mechanic replaced one of the bands, and overall the transmission is much better.
Still having a few problems, though.
1. when cold, it doesn't want to shift out of 1st gear.
2. when steppping on it hard enough to engage the kickdown, i sometimes hear a "zzzzzeeeeEEEEEE!" kind of noise. hard to explain. it downshifts, then the noise happens. sounds like a child's toy.
3. after warm, it seems to be taking off from a full stop in 2nd gear (yes, i'm using the green-dot 1-2-3 setting, not the 2-3 black dot.) i dropped the hammer, and it downshifted into 1st.
i've checked the line down to the vacuum modulator, and it holds vacuum. i have not messed with the modulator itself.
