Ever get a chance to throw the truck on a dyno, Curtis?
Not yet. Still working on oil issues. Actually, the truck is still apart. I have a stock HPOP I'm throwing in temporarily. Just waiting for the snow to melt a little today and the temps to come up above freezing, then I'll be out in the driveway putting it all back together.
Sucks working on this thing during the winter. It's too tall to fit in the garage, so I have to wait for the weather to cooperate.
THANK YOU FOR ASKING!!! I've been wondering the same thing... I've also heard of SOI. What's that?

Chase got it, SOC = Start of Combustion. Sorry, I should have mentioned that before. Think of pinging on gas engines when you read my posts. It'll make more sense that way.
Very cool. Thanks for answering Dan's question with so much detail. I am thinking of trying out Minotaur as well...but I am a bit scared still. I tried rebuilding my injectors once and it didn't really work out that well.
I have a mule truck at work now that can be my test bed so I would like to try out a few things. Is there any online forum support for folks who write there own tunes or are you on your own?

Pocket, if you ever have a thought about selling your tunes, I'd like to try one of these quiet tunes. Not too worried about power, it has more than I need, plus it'd be good for the stock 4R100

The learning curve is pretty big. I've spent a LOT of time messing with it. If you have the time and patience, it's most certainly worth it.
With that said, yes PHP has a forum, and a section dedicated to Minotaur tuning. I've asked quite a few dumb questions in the past as I was learning this stuff. They key is taking it slow and easy, making small changes and learning how they affect everything. But there's a lot of folks there that are ready to help and to answer questions. Even Bill chimes in quite often and gives lots of good advice.
And you aren't on your own starting out either. Bill even gives you his tunes so you can compare them to stock and see what changes are made for fueling, shifting, etc.
Dang, I should be a PHP salesman, maybe Bill can add me to his payroll

Yes I have thought about it. Still up in the air right now. Who knows, maybe something will come up.
A lot more of this is coming together for me now... Thanks y'all!!
The tunes I have in the Excursion now are 100% quiter than my other chip AND quieter than STOCK. Ray, remember commenting how quiet my X is??
I put AC codes in the F350, but still have tunes for 175cc singles with stock nozzles. I swear this thing is 2x as loud as it was - How is the timing affected by this change in injectors? (I can't get up to 25psi of boost either, it builds quick but levels off over 20psi...)
I am ordering new tunes next week and I will be asking my tuner A LOT of questions. Actually, I think we all should be (or have been ). Maybe we should make a list of good questions? Curtis, can you help?
Like, I wanna know why stock tunes have NO POWER when really, really cold - like will not move the truck, but my chip would do a burnout if I wanted? Is this a good feature - which way?

Are the AC codes using stock nozzles? If so, then there really isn't much difference between those and the injectors you had before. You're talking a 15cc difference between the two injectors with the same exact nozzle at full song. Realistically, nothing should have changed.
Now if the nozzles were different, then the tuning does need to be changed.
If you are noticing that much of a difference, and the only thing that changed was going from 175cc singles to 160cc singles, then there might be something else going on. You sure you don't have an exhaust leak?

The best thing you can do is give your tuner all the info on your truck, and tell them exactly what you want, what you do with your truck, and maybe even talk about your driving style or habits. The more the tuner knows about what you want, what you do, and what you have, the better off you'll be.
There's really no list of generic questions I can post up that everyone can use. Everyone is different, so the questions will be different. All I can say is chat with your tuner, and make sure you're both on the same page.

Cold weather operation limits the fueling. You add a chip that increases that fueling across the board, and you're going to have more power even when cold.
