virus?

Is it just me or is anyone else's anti-virus alerting them when accessing this site lately?

It creates a popup telling me that some Trojan...blah, blah, blah has been detected and then denied.

I use Kaspersky anti-virus.

yup, have it to this morning. I had to activate a pop up blocker too.

I am sure someone has hacked into the system and added it.

My block has it stopped.

It started showing up for me yesterday afternoon...pop-up ads every time I'd open or close a tab.

FTE administration and IB staff are aware of the problem and working on it.

If anyone wants to control these pop-ups manually, just block content from pop.webfile.com and ads149.com. This will disable the annoying pop-ups.

IP addresses 208.87.33.150 and 93.186.170.55 for the two URL's Epic mentioned if you have the ability to block at the firewall level.

Just use Ad Block +. It's a free browser add on that works to stop popups and some ad revolvers which are where most of these script malware programs come from.

Untrue. Macs are *IX based and use browsers that are vulnerable to scripting exploits and popups. The issue is that when a Mac is compromised most people will never even know it. A rooted Mac will allow the bad guys have access just as if they're sitting at the keyboard watching everything you type without any ill effects. Since few Mac users use any type of system protections the Macs can be exploited without worry of being detected. With a Windows machine there are usually other symptoms which cause the users to suspect something is wrong.

Mac users (myself included) used to be able to sit back in smug confidence and not worry about malware. Not anymore.

This was being tracked by the admin and tech guys very soon after it started happening.

I don't have any details, all I know is that it's fixed.
