Fuel Tank Sending Unit Replacement
I have removed the rear fuel tank so I can replace the sending unit. When I took the old unit out I noticed that it was horribly filthy, as well as there was NO filter on it. Now that the tank is out it got me to wondering if I should maybe take it somewhere and have the inside cleaned out super good. I am also wondering what the possibility of having gunk in my fuel lines considering there was no filter on the sending unit. Is it a bad idea to hook up an air compressor and try and blow out the fuel lines? I read a thread somewhere here where it was recommended to take the tank to a radiator shop. I think I am going to re-use the filler and air hose, they appear to be fine. On the other hand maybe it is a good idea to just replace them since the tank is out. Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks.
