hello from colorado...

hi everyone names billy, live in colo. just bought me a 1981 ford f150 that has been redone has had the old stock motor taken out and had a 1974 390fe put in it along with a 81 9" from a bronco (i have the tag... wfe-aw 9jb 3L50 9 319a ..thats whats on the tag) from what i have found its a 3.50 ratio with limited slip. the motor has had the bottom end rebuilt and new seals put in, i need some info on how to get a transmission model as i don't know how to find that out. i also want to get rid of the points but don't know what direction to take as there are many many to choose from. i was looking threw the great photos and saw a dash with a tach in the center and the rest of the gauges on the sides what year and model is this from and will it work in my 81 i like the tach.. blah im babling to much to say thanks for the great forum and the advance help

I got a lot of good information in this thread when I did mine. Some info may not apply, but there are a bunch of great links in the thread.

Hope it helps.

ok so after i did the driver side wheel cylinder today i went looking around found out its a c6, and the ignition has been changed to solid state via ignitor module and a flame thrower 40k 1.5 ohm coil. and its also a f100 not a f150...

now my next question is what year is my tranny so i can get a new pan gasket and filter as its leaking like crazy. does the pan gasket stay the same for the lifespan of the c6 so it dont matter?

The c6 should have the same gasket no matter the year but dont hold me to that. Your tack swap will be real easy then. I did mine with a white face mod and now I have to turn them down when Im alone on the road.
