Just in trying to get this response I had 7 new tabs open on all kinds of stupid stuff. Guess I'll go find something else to do until this is fixed. It's really annoying. I have pop up blockers turned on with firefox and explorer and it's still doing it.

you have to go into the tools, options. popup blocker exceptions and remove ford trucks as an allowed site. good to go then!!!!
The best explanation of this that I can give you guys it that the advertisers who purchase spots on this sight have found a way to insert code into their ad scripts that force pop ups.
It's a good idea really. I'm surprised it hasn't been done sooner.
I can actually tell my pop up blocker to block lines of code. FTE's ad sponsors are constantly messing with things to get their sites out of ad blocker lists. I'll see them blocked for a week or 2, then they will be back again.
I just gave up on them and blocked the code for the sponsors. A few make it though that still though.
From my experience when inserting ad code into a page, you just throw in a database call to another site, so I'll ask the page to call from some database someplace else.
Well, they can basically take that database call and route you to lets say, some script, then it will load that script on the page your viewing, so if they insert a pop up script there, then we get pop ups. =)
Sorry about accusing FTE of putting them in. It wouldn't have surprised me if they were added, but I'm glad they are not. I'd hate to see a help site go into a ad sponsored money maker.
Oh. I should add.
If you are running an Ad blocker, make sure you have it use lists from all countries to block the sights.
Just like before, the call for the add can just redirect to another country where the add isn't on a block list, and up comes the add again.
So, subscribe to ALL filters in your list for your add blocker.

Check your tools menu in firefox. I didn't know it, but FTE was on my exemption list on the pop up blocker. I removed the exemption and now it's blocking them.
Yeah, I noticed this last night, then again this evening. Turned on my pop up blocker, so far so good. I am wondering though when it comes time to add a URL or Pic, I am going to have to allow a new window to open, that should be fun! LOL!
