Quick couple my A$$

88 m5od with the internal slave. I can't connect the hydraulic to my new slave. It is the new improved style slave from napa with the retaining clip. Please help, I'm so close.

That should just push in... somethings messed up in either the line or the slave. Look closely

Try opening the bleeder before attaching the hydraulic hose. I couldn't get the line to attach to the new slave in my truck until I opened the bleeder. Apparently they ship it with fluid inside and when I installed the transmission, it compressed the piston enough to pressurize the chamber and keep the hydraulic line from being installed.

It was the new plastic sleeve. It just didn't fit right. they gave me a new one and it went right in as advertised. I grabbed the pressure plate to install it and then I heard a little jingle. I shook it around and there was something stuck in the pressure plate. Napa was shut so another day was wasted. they didn't hesitate to give me a new one today. Someday soon I'll have my truck back.

I had that problem last year. The o-ring on the line that connects to the tranny was too big so it wouldn't lock.

Of coarse that was the one time I went to auto zone instead of advanced.....everyone at auto Zone has the automotive knowlage of a naked mole rat must I add.

I pulled the pressure plate out of its sealed bag and there was some sort of metal cylinder with threads on one side. Maybe a machine screw with a shoulder and no head. I couldn't get it out and it definitely came in the package. Napa actually sold me the bigger 11'' clutch so I just bought some bigger bolts since my flywheel was tapped for both. If anyone is wondering, I had to use the 3/8 bolts 1'' long. They were Mr. Gasket #910.
