Craigslist score!

So I had a set of old bias ply 35"Ground Hawgs on my '78 F-150 SWB 4x4. I hated the ride, the vibration over 50 MPH and there total lack of grip in the snow. I paid $250 for them about five years ago. Last week I found a set of 35" Goodyear wranglers with abut 4,000 miles on them for $400 on Craigslist. When I called the next night I couldn't believe he still had them. I bought them and then listed my Hawgs on Craigslist, sold them for $225.

The truck drives SO much better with the radials on it it's like a different truck!

Now I just gotta get the heat to work so I can drive it, it's 2* here and is supposed to get to -7* tonight.

Good score.

I understand about the cold. I'm up at work right now and it's -39 degrees with the wind chill sitting at -65 degrees.

Yeah, my 78 had the swiss cheese mod on the cab. The boot on the clutch rod going through the firewall was gone too, and the cold air blew straight up my leg. I finally stuffed a paper towel in there, and surprisingly, it stayed put and kept the wind and water out. Bounty weather sealing. Who knew?

In the early 80's I worked in the oil patch in Wyoming. I bought a beat up Pinto to drive back and forth on a 50 mile one way commute. Winter came and we were getting a good old Wyoming -30 cold snap. I could feel the hot air coming out of the heater in the Pinto but just couldnt stay warm driving it at highway speed. I got to looking and the area where the wheelwells on the front tires came into the floor pans was rusted out about 6" wide and a foot and a half long on both sides. It was so cold I couldnt get duct tape to stick to anything to plug them up so I took wet rags and stuffed em in the holes. They froze up solid and stayed that way for the rest of the winter. Problem solved!!!!!!!!!! I sold the Pinto the following summer after I had bought my first dent..........a 77 1/2 F150 4x4 Flareside!!!!!!
