Warrenty question

I just called my local ford dealer to get my oil cooler/ EGR cooler changed and again they said that 06 is not under the 5/100,000 mi warranty and that warranty started in 07. Called the dealer my company uses and they said its still under warranty and they will print out the statement. (They are 140mi away) Still waiting on another local dealer to call me back and see what they say. Oasis said I have another 8 months.

This is frustrating. what ever happened to Costumer service.

On the edge of your driver's door there will be a sticker that states your "in service" date. Its 5 yrs from that. I have an 06, but my in service date was 7/05, so my warranty has been done for some time. If its less than 5 yrs, you're good. That dealership is full of sh..

I believe the terms of your warranty are stated in your owner's manual and possibly your diesel supplement. Everyone is correct that it's 5/100 for the diesel engine. As long as you're under 100k miles and within 5 yrs of the in-service date, you're covered.

I'd be looking for another servicing dealer. If they don't know the warranty terms, I wonder what else they don't know.

the date you have on the door is the build date not the inservice date/ warranty start date. those 2 dates are different

Warranty date is from the day of the original purchase I believe minus any miles currently on the truck.

I have my in service date (24-AUG-2006) the dealers around here are A$$'s I think they believe we as costumers will just do what they say. Looks like I'm going to have to hall it somewhere else.
It just sucks you have to call 3 different dealers to get the answers.

ps the bumper to bumper is is 5/100k on some 07's but the engine on all was upped to 5/100k so make sure you present them with the fact that it is covered under the engine warranty

Got another question. On the 5/100 engine warranty does it cover the damage to the hoses and degas bottle The blown oil cooler did? Or just the EGR cooler and oil cooler (engine components.) I'm going to look into the warranty book but I think this is unclear in it. Or I can't understand the legal gibberish.

if the parts are failed as a result of a coverered componet then yes they would be related damage and should be part of the complete repair.

All 6.0 have 5 year/100,000 mile warranty on the engine from the date of purchase. (except for some fleets that add bodies) These usually use an in service date.
