Its Time To Play - - -

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 23-Oct-02 AT 05:06 PM (EST)]The recurring male dilemma - conjuring up clever gift ideas for the love of your life. Ladies (and gentlemen) of FTE, your advice in this matter would be greatly appreciated in order to solicit birthday gift ideas for the, ahem, "mature" woman, about to celebrate the long anticpated 50th birthday.

All the traditional ideas such as clothing and jewelry were exhausted long ago, as were the trendy ones such as spas, salons and the makeup/picture session.

Not that there is any hurry.....but.., did you ever have that feeling of being tied to the rails before an onrushing train?

All ideas welcomed!

I assuming you're fishing for a gift for your significant other?

Jewelry always works for me, especially if it has any of those nice sparkly things. Steve always finds the most unusual yet classy pieces.

He got me an oil lamp thing one year that I just love. It's has 7 teardrop shaped, handblown glass globes on different sized glass rods that fit into a glass base. He included 7 different colors of lamp oils to fill it with. It's one of the neatest gifts I've ever received.

Fishing for ideas, heck no, it's hunting season.

Sometimes it's not what you get her as much as what you do for her.
Think back on things she said in the past, the little things.
Breakfeast in bed.
Take the garbage out.
Check my oil.
Change the vaccume bag.
The list can go on and on.

Give her a day of all the honey doos.
Then when it is all done hand her the plain tickets to somewhere like Jamaica.

Was a gtrat time for Her on her 40th. (I loved it to)

Last year for my wifes 40th I set her and her mother up for an overnight stay at a resort spa. When they were leaving to come home the next day. I walked up
and said Honey last night was for you and mom. Tonights stay is for us.

Try something along those lines!
