I have been thinking about this for awhile and its hard to find the correct spring for a 51 safty latch then i was wondering were could i get a aftermarket latch that would also pervent anyone from opening the hood at anytime. Years ago someone took my battery out of my 67 mustang when i was surfing . All new cars have a latch inside and i want one on my 51. I think i will go to pick-n-pull this weekend and look and see if i can find a donor. Any ideals on what might work ?

By the way, I found the latch assembly and it has the original spring that you're looking for.

 

HEY ILYA how bout taking a pic. of it for me. I got one coming from ebay but don't know if its going to work on the 51.
