2006 F250 super duty 5.4

I have a 2006 F250 5.4 162,000 loss of power and a rattling noise coming from engine. Any ideas? Dealer thinks it might be a broken piston? Also won't go over 3200 rpm revving it up. They say replace the engine. Any one have any ideas?

You might want to check out the forum on F-250's. This one is for 2009 and up F-150's.
A little help from the moderator here in "moving" the above post to the correct spot? Thanks in advance!

I've moved your question to the right forum for you. The guys here should be able to answer it for you.
Good luck with it

Thank you Dave- I wasn't sure exactly how to steer this, but you got it done. Should I do anything differently if a similar situation transpires?

Gary you can report a post that's in the wrong place with the "report post" button at the top right of that post. A moderator will get the report and can fix the problem.

Thanks again Dave- I'm new to doing that and was hoping for the answer you just gave me, instead of the smartass remark "EXCURSIONATOR1" gave me. Can't blame you for deleting my answer to him; it was a reflex action on my part. Sorry if it offended you.

WHAT?? I'm not trying to be a smartass!! Your asking a question about a noise that sounds like a broken piston. I was asking to hear it myself So I and other can also judge. Could be a piston pin ,camshaft, rockers.
Man your a hot head. How do you expect someone to diagnos a problem from a question about a noise without hearing it??

G/L with your problem

Excursionator1, if you have read every post I've made in this thread, you might have noted that I NEVER made mention of any noise, only that the original poster put his post in the WRONG FORUM. And I thought you were refering to my post not his, and thought what you said was a smart--- remark directed at me. dbaker1014 was the original poster, not me. HE has the weird noises from his engine, not me. And his post has been moved, which you would know, IF you had indeed read all the posts. Sorry for any misunderstanding on my part.

so let me be specific

TO the ORIGINAL poster, the one with the engine problem, could you please post a video or audio clip so that we could hear the rattling noise you mentioned and help you diagnose your problem so that you can get your truck back on the road.

You could be lucky and a cam follower fell off. A video or sound clip would be most helpful.
