Easiest thing to do is go to crutchfield.com. Put your vehicle info in there and go from there. Door speakers should be 6x8. I am not sure if the extended cabs come with rear speakers. I know my crew has 6x8s front and rear. As far as sub and amp. That is kind of a custom fit and is entirely up to you as to how big and loud you want to go.

I have no idea. On mine I just replaced the door speakers with 3 way pioneers front and rear. Alpine head unit, and then I went with a sub box off ebay with a 12 and an amp. The aftermarket head units, unless other wise stated, have plenty of power to power your door speakers. I was just on crutchfield and now I am looking to get a new Alpine head unit. LoL.

Alpine seems to be focusing its products on Ipod and Iphone capability. The specs for the audio don't seem to be as great as they used to be, however I am not in my 20s anymore and my radio is rarely turned up that high. I just like a full, crisp sound with lots of adjust ability. Which Alpine is pretty good at giving.

Time correction is nice in trucks, especially one that in only a extended cab. You can delay your sub a little, which is nice.

My current Alpine Headunit has been installed for 3 or 4 years and ran me around 700 when I bought it. It has a crossover, eq, time correction, The model number is CDA 9815. They don't sell it anymore.

Here are some specs from crutchfield.

Alpine CDA-9815 CD/MP3/WMA Receiver with CD Changer Controls at Crutchfield.com

It is an audiophile head unit. You don't just turn up the treble and mids and bass with this head unit. It has full adjust ability. It is like having a crossover, equalizer, and head unit all in one.

If you are going to replace the head unit, you should do your door speakers at the same time. The stock Ford door speakers are garbage. And replacements are cheap and easy to install.

If you have four 6x8s I would run these

Pioneer TS-D6802R 6"x8" 2-way car speakers at Crutchfield.com

With your choice of head units. Most head units run 4 channel 45 watt rms built in amps that will push these with no problem. Head units are a personal choice. Some people are Kenwood, or Pioneer, I like Alpine. Alpines are about the least user friendly out of the bunch, but have the best sound in my opinion.

Crutchfield has people that are really good at helping you set up a stereo system if you ask live on their website.

It sucks because it looks like Alpine has gone soft and is trying to keep up with Pioneer for ease of use and less adjust ability with their new head units. I don't see one that they sell now that has nearly as much adjust ability or near the audio specs that mine has and it is at least 4 years old.

If I were buying today I would probably be actually buying a Pioneer. And this would be the head unit I would buy.
Pioneer Stage 4 DEX-P99RS CD receiver/preamp at Crutchfield.com

If you decide on that one, you would need an amp to push your speakers.

I actually am running the 9887 head unit now. The 9815 is what I had in my last 250. Both have comparable specs.

This is the exact head unit I am running. Pretty good video on youtube about its capabilities. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyVJI...eature=related

Use Crutchfield.com to determine "what" you want then use either of these websites to "purchase" the items to save $$$.

I got most of my stuff from Ebay and onlinecarstereo.com. Crutchfield was close to the same with all the added misc install stuff. I actually spent more buying from the other two places to save on the speakers, head unit, amp. Still ended up buying all the small stuff from Crutchfield. I have a crew cab. I replaced all 4 speakers with JL audio components. My subs are from Alpine, and my amp is Rockford. Key thing with the subs is measure the depth of your box before ordering the subs. You will need to look at shallow mount subs. So measure measure measure before ordering anything. Pics in my garage if you want to see how mine came out.
