Rusty roof
today i was looking at an older post where there was a schematic diagram shown of a roof section and where to cut rusty roof and where to cut donor , which shows how you remove whole roof with drip rails still attatched on donor roof, has anyone done a roof transplant using this technique and how do you get around the factory seem on back corner to attatch it all , that was the only thing it didnt show , its probably just a few different cuts to retain original seam fold on cab corner.

Roof replacement
My friend has a similar problem with his 73. The rot on these cabs really hits hard around the driprails, which is where his has failed. On the advice of a good bodyman we scored a solid roof from a junk cab. He told us to cut the junk cab A and B pillars with extra metal to spare for trimming when we replace the roof this summer. We will be replacing the entire roof structure, not just the skin. It will be a chore to do, but it's no different than the ol' skoolers do when chopping a roof. Hope this helps you.
