I used the vinyl letters. They are a little brighter than Wimbledon White but it isn't a big deal to me. Looks a hellava lot better than it did and it was easy.
that looks awesome. My '61 tailgate was done by hand prior to purchase - looks terrible. I will definitely look to doing the stencil.

That's a great looking tailgate! Really stands out.
There's a guy on eday; he sells letters and I beleive offers two different tones of white; plus most vendors sell the letters as well.
Just for folks that are thinking or doing the same; just make sure your tailgate is of the right era; 67-72 kinda resemble the same as 64-66. Letters are different; and I'm sure others parts are as well.
