heater issues

Hey everyone, having heater issues again. I replaced the heater core in a factory a/c 78 f100 and the heater hoses and just recently burned off all the anti freeze that had gotten behind everything from the leak. Well my heat works-ish it ran for about 45 mins and the air coming out was only mildly warm.

Honestly just having antifreeze not leak on my passenger floor is a gift from God so I don't really need heat but, I know my old 78 gave me hot air so somethings off on this one. If you have any ideas as to why id greatly appreciate it. thank you.

have you rechecked your fluid level after running it a while. If it is low on coolant it wont heat up correctly. Just an idea

Thanks! the fluid was at a good level. the new heater core i put in came with foam on it although not as thick as the kind you added. That may be it.

Out of curiosity what difference would the 180 thermostat make?

A 180 would make the enigne run cooler, reuslting in your heat being cooler. It's also a lot harder on the engine in cold weather. I'd stick with a 195
