Question Possibly Adding A Powertrax Locker To 1995 F150 8.8. Newbie Question

I have a 1995 f150 with an 8.8. My buddy recemmonded a powertrax locker PN1822. I want something to give me a little more added traction when its wet or mildly snowing. How much noise or clicking can I expect in normal straight driving with this unit? Anything other advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Jeremy

A locker is not a good idea in the snow, you now will slide sideways b/c the rear tires turn at the same time if you dont know how to handle a locked rear.

Good all terrain tires are whats needed. IE Firestone destination at, bridgestone dueler, michelin LTX... NOT BFG all terrains (they suck!).

I would have thought no noise when going straight, some when turning. Go to youtube.com and you should find some videos of them in operation.

I put one in the front of my 250 and can't hear a thing ,but then a again it's a diesel with a big open stack so I can't really hear the radio either. The thing works good and when they say no slip they mean it I broke my left front axleshaft and it kept on trying to pull with the right one. I had it in someplaces I didn't think I 'd ever get past. I've got limited slip in my Bronco and it tracks pretty good from a stop in the snow and ice.
