again i seek help!!300 six 1988 f-150 4x4 just seem to lose my timing put code tester on#64-32-18 did the test again after changing a few parts and got different codes #82-26-46------33-21-26 spout conn.open or grounded, connector is fine !could it be modulator or pickup coil??any help appreciated thanx steve

did you pull the spout out when you set the timing? you have to do that so the computor doesnt change it. its like puggin off the vac. advance on an older dist. when you set timing.

If the computer is bad, it'll either throw that code, or it just won't work - it won't randomly generate codes, so it's not that. It's something in the circuits running to the sensors whose codes are showing up, but it could be something as simple as a broken wire or as complex as an exhaust leak blowing heat onto a vacuum line, collapsing it. Consider every combination of codes and each code separately to figure out if one is causing another or if they're coincidental. But don't buy parts until you've determined that they're bad - it's more likely something you can fix with electrical tape, heat-shrink tubing, or electrical contact cleaner.
