My Question is for those of you that have pulled your engines out and reinstalled which was easier leave the tranny in place and stab the engine back on or slide the tranny back and set the engine in it's mounts and then reconnect the tranny. I ask becuse I am about to put a motor back in my Daughters 1988 f-250 4wd c6 automatic. right now the tranny is still in it original mounting place.
I am not sure what you mean by core support. I took the fan off I took the rad out dropped the pipes and disconnected the needed wiring and hoses took off 4 nuts holding torque converter to flex plate took motor mount nuts to frame mounts loose removed bell hosing bolts. Picked motor up and slid it forward started lifting out of engine compartment. Had to stop and remove crank pulleys in order to clear wiper motor.
Sounds good the reason I asked is the engine we are putting in came out of a truck with a 5 speed and I had to take the pressure plate off before I could get that motor out. It would not clear the cross member in front of the pan lacked the length of the pilot bearing snout of coming out of the pressure plate. We will know tonight I plan on putting it in after work.
Update engine is back in I have done easier but I have done a whole lot worse. Now just to get all the crap hooked back up
