750.00????for only 3"..Thats steep. From looking at the truck i see where i can just build drop down brackets to compensate for the lift.I just want the front level with rear.
Keep us posted how you do. Sounds like you are starting to figure this out. Keep templates for the rest of us!!
Will do for sure man.I just went out there and took a closer look at the front end.I do see now what everyone is talking about and those damn I beams. If i was to just throw 2 inch spacers up there those things would be all off.But if i was to also compensate that by droping the I beam 2 inches it will clear.I will post the build when i complete it.And post a link on how to do it your self with a supply list, materials, messurments and templates. You could even get away with a bolt on kit.All your doing is droping the eye on the I beam 2 inches and adding spacers to the springs. That my freinds should NOT cost 750.00.
That's the basics for a lift kit. Another 2 cents to add, since you're a fab guy, is to install air bags in place of the springs. Something similar to these, or maybe a little smaller diameter: airbags airsprings
i like seeing people fabricate there own projects gives everyone more motivation and knowlage to try these things on there own. i dont see that lift kit being that much when you can get a full 4x4 front and rear lift kit for around the same price. how do you plan on dropping the i beams down 2''? ill be watching for your updates and what you come up with.
they make a leven kit for a 72 i have been lookin at one for my 72 cuz i have 33x12.5r15 on mine an you can just buy a set of srping that are 2'' level ones but the way your talkin bout your gunna have to get longer shocks then your stock ones to same with the levelin springs like i looked at doin witch it was gunna cost me like 230 to level it

Airbags are acually alot more simpler than that.Theres a company called airbagit.com.The literally have everything you could ever need to bag anything you want for any anystyle. All you would need would be two twin bellow HD bags.4 buckets. Some peices of metal.Of cource a welder.air lines, swtiched, pump and tank.I can tell you how many custom air bags iv done man.
That's what the link was from. I was actually thinking of using that bag for mine. I'm going to need a lot of help holding the extra weight of a diesel, going from a gasser 6cyl. They did say to use the biggest bag you can fit. This one was it.
o Well that will work too i just dont have acces to a welder or the bags an for what i do huntin an muddin so i would stick to the springs but thats me an im planing on gettin a for inch lift for mine an 4.5 inch lift springs in the front so i quit lookin for a diffrent ways of level one

You could call them before you ordered it and have them swap the front bags out with something they would recomend. They have a one of a kind customer service.
hmmm i might have to check it out the cuz im wantin to put 35s on mine but i no from right now with 33 i will have to either get spacers or dished out rims due to if you have the stock offset with 12.5 wide they rub at full turn on your i beams

Yes but the problem with is you will need to move your spring mounts on your frame becouse your springs will be flater. My grandfather told me a story about how guys use to heat there springs back in the day.LOL..I dont recomend that.A safe and effective way to lower the rear of any truck is to flip the axle. Its verry easy and you will get up to 5" of drop in about an hour.
