Injector buzz test and some questions
I been battling an intermidiate miss, i thought i killed it but it came back.
So today i took it to my buddy and we put a code reader on it, only code it brought up was something about the <ACRONYM title="Injection Control Pressure">ICP</ACRONYM> sensor and the <ACRONYM title="Exhaust Back Pressure Valve">EBPV</ACRONYM> sensor, the <ACRONYM title="Exhaust Back Pressure Valve">EBPV</ACRONYM> is on a toggle, and the <ACRONYM title="Injection Control Pressure">ICP</ACRONYM> was were i was playin with resistors, but i tookk them out before we put it on the reader, after we cleared the codes that one didnt come back up,
So then we run an injector buzz test, they all sounded good up until the 7th one that buzzed it has a lower sound than all the rest. we ran the test again this time with my hands on the valve cover and felt of it and the one that has the different sound feels like the 1st injector on the passenger side of the engine,
Now the problem im having is that idle has a slight miss and it gets kinda bad at 2500 rpm and blows blue smoke, then when it passes 2800-3000 it will clear up and run like mad to the govenor.
My buddy is supose to come over later and bring a couple more readers and were gonna play around with it somemore, so what do yall think? weak injector?

You'll have to take the VC's off for one.
So if your garage is heated, get them off before you play around.
You can run the truck with the VC's off, its not messy.
number 7 is back by the firewall on drivers side.
With the VC's off you can check all the connections.
It, hopefully, is just a burnt UVCH.

Sorry, I was taking into the assumption that he was speaking about the individual buzzes.
firing order on buzz test is 1-8 yes.
injector 6 is. second to last towards the firewall on Drivers side.
injector 7 is the last on the Passenger side.
Ooops.
I got em backwards before.
With the strange way they count the cylinders on our truck, it gets confusing.
1 3 6 7 are pass side, and 2 4 6 8 are drivers side.

if your having funny sounds during a buzz test it is not because of a bad solenoid.
It is most likely poppet issues. When the poppet clearance is off due to worn injectors, the poppet cannot be picked up by the solenoid properly because its further away, thus a different sound, or a "weaker" sound which would make you think the solenoid was bad.
Generally means your ready to have your injectors rebuilt and re-clearances.
Hence one of the reasons DIY Kits were taken off the market.
People would have issues, buy a DIY kit, and the problem would still be there because the tolerances were not put back into spec.

Jim is a great guy and can tell you all about it. Even though he'll tell you the same thing I just said.
Solenoids rarely go bad. He can tell you how many bad solenoids in the hundreds of injectors he's built were bad. I'm pretty sure he can count them on 1 or both hands still.
If you have issues with solenoids firing and your injectors are good. Start swapping harnesses around and checking/cleaning a connections.
Use some Conductive Grease in there as well if you need too.
