Replacing eBrake shoes

on my 2003, when replacing the rear pads and rotors I found the eBrake shoes on one side bonded to the rotors. I ordered the shoes on-line. Now getting ready to replace the shoes. Any recommendations on doing this? Are there instructions for the drum shoes somewhere? Thanks.

If you have reason to remove the rear hubs that will make changing the eBrake shoes quite a bit easier. Other than than, if you have done drum brakes before these should be pretty intuitive.

Shorod, mlelah is correct that the rear E- breke shoes are similar to that of rear drum shoes, and with the hub in place it is MUCH more difficult.
Traditional break spring tools do not work well -at least in my experience- with the smaller work area that you have so be careful, and get several pairs of pliers to pull the return springs onto their mounts.
i would also replace the spring kit which will also hase the star wheel adjusters while you have the wheel off. it is cheap insurance, and also adjust the star wheel so there is a slight drag when turning the wheel. repeat this for both sides, then check the emergency brake to see if the rea wheels "lock" when you depress the pedal within 3-4 clicks.
There are slots behind the caliper mounting plate that allow adjustment of the star wheel; my truck did not have them so i had to raise the back of the vehicle and pull teh tire several times in order to correctly set the emergency brake pedal.

Thanks for your post. I actually did it this weekend. Yes you are right - it was very difficult to attach the spring because of the hub. I must have spent 1/2 hr trying over and over again until I got it. I also adjusted the star adjuster by going back and forth until the e-brake worked properly. I only did one side as only one side was bad. But everything works fine.
