Alright so here is the update. FINALLY got the truck towed over to a friend of mine who is gonna pull the motor and re-seal it as well as put in a new cam etc. Tomorrow I'm going to go pull the bed off and inspect it. I ordered the bedsides for it today. They didn't run me to much, $300 a side and got quoted 350-400 to hang them. After I get them hung I'm gonna get it sprayed with sealer and and store it somewhere. When he gets around to getting the engine pulled im gonna try and take the truck to get from the cab back blasted and sealed. Or maybe I'll just take a wire spool on a grinder and touch it up and spray it myself, any input on that aspect would be appreciated! Thanks alot.
Alright, so this bed is at my body guys place. He ordered the bedsides out of a place in Omaha. Apparently the same thing that NPD has but about $20 more expensive. But that extra 40 is worth it in my opinion. Ordering from them insures money back and free replacements at his wish. He will be doing everything on the bed except painting it. Just putting the sides on and getting it to a primer. While the bed is being done I'm hoping to trailer the truck to a relatives about 40 miles south of here where I can work on it in his extra shop stall. As of now he has a dozer sitting in it all gutted up so it may be a week or 2 until that happens.
Alright, so not much going on. Bed is to be finished Thursday. Possible Wednesday. The new sides look SEXY! He ended up just ordering from NPD as his usual provider didn't have the dual tank holes in stock. I was pretty suprised how quickly the sides were off and the amount of dirt stuck to the inner sides! I'm still currently waiting on a reletive to get room for me to bring it down to his machine shop where I'll do alot of the work. Thats all! I'll post pics when the bed is finished
