Hello Guys.... My name is Michelle and I sure can use some help. I am trying to change the Crankshaft Position Sensor on a 2002 F150 V8. I cant seem to find it....I was told it was behind the Starter then behind the A/C Compressor...Whitch is it and If behind the compressor How do I get it off? Any thoughts and help would be greatly appriciated.
It is behind the front crank pulley and A/C compressor.
Get under and take a look at the situation and see what has to come off to get at it.
You will see a cable that plugs onto the sensor.
Be sure you need to replace it first.
Good luck.
Like Bluegrass said, it's behind the A/C compressor-located on the side of the timing cover. The AC compressor must be at the very least, lowered down to allow you to remove the old sensor and install the new one.
