Anyone know where to purchase a cowl screen for a `49 F1?
Thanks in advance, Mark

Never seen one in a parts catalog for sale. You will probably need to find a good used one. I may be able to help you. I'm not sure if 49 is the same as 51-2, we may need to do some research. Feel free to PM me for more info if you're interested.

What's wrong with yours?

Just find a metal wire mesh screen, cut it to fit and tack it in a few spots. That's how the original is affixed.

It's such a hard area to see, that no one will ever notice, unless you're doing a 100 pt restoration.

EDIT: The screens are the same from 48-52.

2ND EDIT:

Here's what the original screen looks like.

Thanks, I haven't got mine out yet but can tell there is a hole in it, looks like released from one edge. May be able to retack it.
Thanks, Mark
