I will say that after 8 years as a Ford Owner...I will no longer have the luxury of sitting in the waiting room or the service center waiting for bad news.
2003 F 150...front shocks replaced at 12K miles, cracked wheel from factory (both items required multiple trips to the dealership, with excuse after excuse from SA as to why the problem had not been fixed), uneven rotors at 8K miles that required replacement...this one still baffles me... traded at 46K
2004 F350...OMG where to begin...Oil Leaks, Rear Main Seal, HeadGasket, Bearings, Cold Start Issues, FICM replaced, traded at 47K (before EGR problems started)
2005 Excursion...Adopted Stepchild...Bought with 75K...Fuel Pump, EGR replaced 2 times...within 2 months of purchase, EGR Cooler, Oil Cooler replaced, Injectors Replaced, Fuel Relay Replaced, OIL LEAKS, Stuck EGR Valve (dead on side of road...thanks AAA), Rear Pinion Seal (causing oil burning smell from backend), CEL More times than I care to think about. Only good thing...all covered under warranty except for Pinion Seal...so really didn't cost too much....traded at 114K
2006 F250...No Major engine Issues..so this is the winner..however...Rear Pinion and Carrier Bearings, Wheel Bearings, brake Master Cylinder Ruptured, Brake Calipers frozen...all within 90K. I did not pull trailers or use the truck for heavy duty use...in my opinion...there is no excuse for these parts to fail so early in a SUPER DUTY's life...when the engine can go 300K+ but the body parts start to fail so early...disappointing.
I am done with Ford for now...I want to thank everybody on this board. I truly enjoyed scanning the boards and learning about these trucks, just wish I had better luck. I heard the new engines were more durable..however I am not willing to pay another 50K for a truck that enjoys being at the dealership.
My uncle owns a Ford Dealer...so I guess he is going on speculation...but we all know how dangerous that can be.....anybody for "The rise of the 7.3L"...what a great engine. I could have bought a 2001 F350 for 4500.00 with 268K miles but passed...I need some recovery time.
Sorry to hear about all your bad luck, hope you give Ford another try in the future. Ford is the only Brand that hasn't given me any trouble. I will not buy another Honda!
I sent a PM and an email.
If I had only spent a couple hundred dollars in 280,000 miles on the Chevys I've bought new over the years I would most likely never had bought a Ford. I own 2 6.0s and have had very little trouble out of either. My 7.3 has 331,000 miles and had a few problems. But the GM products almost bankrupted me! But to each his own. I hope you have better luck then you did with your Fords.

We have gone from "no trouble" to "very little trouble". Based on some of the "very little trouble" posts that you posted on here, people might say it was more then just "very little". But that is apparently all relative.
