silly southerners...
just got back from looking at some horses in north carolina, and i just have to ask...why do you southerners think you are the only place in this country who have a lifted 4x4, have wide open spaces, farms, and listen to country music? the owners of the horses were very concerned as to where a horse can stay in CT. ill be damned if they had a quarter the acerage i have in my SMALL field, let alone the other 5. and i truly believe that they thought i was lying when i told them i was milking cows for 2$ an hour back when i was a little biddy for a lady who had herd of 200. when in the local breakfast joint, people noticed our "accent" and started asking about "how do we like this wide open state compared to the city?" they were appauled when i said they were the city folk, and told one man that had a lifted ford in the lot that his was small compared to the ones back home. the south is rising again, in the form of hi-risers and ghettos, i dont ever want to hear any of those blue neck jokes after my last visit.
"So, where y'all from?"
"New york"
"Oh. I couldn't live in the city"
"I don't. I live in one of the largest dairy producing areas in the US. We do have more country than city, ya know.."
"I didn't know they had farms up in the city."
"Grr, never mind..."
Then again, having family in New Mexico, it's fun explaining that one to some of the brighter people up here, too..
"Where'd you go?"
"New Mexico"
"Oh. So, how was it there, just like the US?"
"No, not Mexico, NEW Mexico, ya know, it's a state, right there by Texas..."
"So, did ya go to TJ?"
As I walk away, and vow to just stay home.......
hey greywolf what does this mean??
